Clinical Instructor Biography: Dr. Jay Lerner

Meet our Faculty,

Jay LernerDr. Jay Lerner graduated from Columbia University of Dentistry in 1982, then went on to complete a general practice residency at Brookdale Medical Center in New York. Today, he has a private practice in Palm Beach Gardens, FL that he has maintained since 1983. His main focus is cosmetic and restorative rehabilitation dentistry. Dr. Lerner has always been dedicated to continuing his education. He’s completed advanced training in esthetic and restorative dentistry at New York University, Baylor College of dentistry and many other prestigious institutes.

Dr. Lerner is a member of The American Dental Association, The Florida Dental Association and The Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He’s also a clinical instructor with the Rosenthal Institute at New York University, Palm Beach Community College and the Eastman Dental Clinic in London, England. It’s at these programs that he teaches up and coming dentists all over the world the latest techniques in cosmetic dentistry.

Clinical Instructor Biography: Dr. Michael Apa | New York, NY

At the young age of five, Dr. Michael Apa knew that he wanted to make a career in dentistry. After graduating from NYU School of Dentistry, Dr. Apa achieved in many areas such as teaching a NYU, lecturing extensively in the U.S. and abroad, and has contributed dental health articles to New York Times and CNN. Dr. Apa is a member of Journal of Implant & Advanced Clinical Dentistry (JICAD), The American Dental Association (ADA), American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). He is also one of our extremely talented senior clinical instructors here at Aesthetic Advantage.

Today, Dr. Michael Apa is also a partner at the Rosenthal-Apa Group in New York City, which is practice that specializes in non-invasive dentistry. In fact, Dr. Apa has developed a new approach to aesthetic dentistry called Facial Aesthetic Design, also known as FAD. The FAD approach stems from his ability to transform an entire face into a more attractive whole by re-contouring a smile with porcelain veneers. He discover that his technique could overcomer features like a crooked nose, thin upper lip, frown lines or hollow cheeks by the artful sculpting of a new smile. Dr. Apa has also mastered the skill of making porcelain veneers look more natural and undetectable overall.

Dr. DavidWardDr. David Ward is a Rhode Island native. Proud to follow in the footsteps of his father, Dr. Ward practiced in Woonsocket, RI for twenty-two years. He graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine with honors. Dr. Ward’s practice’s focus is cosmetic dentistry and implantology. With the combination of these passions, he’s capable to create phenomenal smiles.

Today, Dr. Ward is a proud member of The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and is also one of New England’s leading doctors in advanced cosmetic dentistry. Over the years, Dr. Ward has placed strong emphasis on continuing his dental education. He has also received commendation from The Rhode Island Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicap for his work with the elderly and disabled citizens.

Clinical Instructor Biography: Dr. Alvin Neff | New York, NY

cosmetic-dental-coursesDr. Alvin Neff’s passion for dentistry started at an early age in high school. Upon graduating Rogers High School with honors 1975, he next attended the University of Arkansas where he also graduated with honors 1979. Shortly after graduating, Dr. Neff was then accepted to LSU School of Dentistry, where he also graduated with honors.

In 1983, Dr. Neff became one of the first dentists in the country to utilize porcelain veneers. His expertise in aesthetic dental treatments eventually lead him to become one of our Senior Clinical Instructors here at the Rosenthal Institute’s Aesthetic Advantage Continuum in 1997. Dr. Neff is committed to staying up to date by completing over 2,000 hours of post-doctoral continuing education courses. He stays active in many organizations, including studying under the leading cosmetic dentists worldwide. He has also lectured for the ADA and AACD at educational seminars.

Dr. Neff resides in Beaver Lake and enjoys spending time with his family. He’s also a competitive water-skier, and the Neff’s find themselves enjoying the excitement of being on the water, while also appreciating each other’s company on the weekends.

Dr. James Ciancarelli has over twenty years of experience providing excellent dental treatments in Long Island and prides himself in being one of the best in that area! He graduated from Queens College New York with an honors degree in chemistry and then realized that dentistry was his calling. In 1981, he received a dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania. There, he completed a two year general practice residency at Brookdale University.

A member of the American dental association, Dr. Ciancarelli is also involved with the New York Dental Association and American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. These accreditations allow him to offer a vast array of dental plans that has transformed thousands of patients’ lives. An acclaimed dentist, Dr. Ciancarelli’s dental practice is located in Valley Stream. It isn’t rare for people from outside of the Long Island area to travel to his office to obtain his acclaimed service.

In addition to his thriving dental practice, Dr. Ciancarelli is a sought after instructor. He currently acts as instructor at the “Aesthetic Advantage” in New York and Palm Beach, Florida. While he has comfortably reached the pinnacle of his profession years ago, Dr. Ciancarelli is never satisfied. A graduate from the University of Florida College of dentistry, Dr. Gerard J. Lemongello has been in private practice since 1987. He focuses on cosmetic and comprehensive restorative and reconstructive dentistry. Dr. Lemongello is an avid member of the dental community, holding membership in the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry. He is also an accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. Lemongello serves as a Senior Clinical instructor here at the Rosenthal Institute’s Aesthetic Advantage Continuum at New York University. HE is Co-chairman of the Comprehensive Esthetic and Restorative Clinic at the Atlantic Coast Dental Research Clinic in West Palm Beach. He has held numerous positions on the board of the Atlantic Coast Dental Research Clinic and presided as President for two terms.

Dr. Lemongello has published a multitude of articles in leading dental journals. His lecture include a variety of topics, however he lectures nationally on complex treatment planning, aesthetics and implant dentistry, as well as other contemporary dental topics.

As a graduate from Indiana University School of Dentistry, Dr. Todd Meeks has dedicated his professional dental career to helping individuals through his main private practice in Fort Wayne, Indiana, as well as through his teaching skills at Rosenthal Institute in New York City. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), and holds a position on the Isaac Knapp Dental Society Peer Review Board. Memberships and credentials aside, he is an accomplished author, gracing us with publications in Dental Products Report as well as many Dentistry Today magazines.

Dr. Meeks exceeds his annual continuing education requirements and is the Dental Health Expert for two local television stations. He has also been granted the “Top 100 Dentists in the Nation” award each year since 2005. His team members are highly trained in all aspects of dentistry and are experts at delivering exceptional dental care with five-star customer service. They offer the latest in technology, now offering Botox® and dermal fillers to their patients.
